Avalie Muhlestein is a former public school educator who entered the world of homeschooling in 2011. Since earning a BA from BYU in 1998, and a MAEd from Pacific University in 2000, Avalie taught and served in a variety of environments including Seminary and elementary reading. Avalie currently serves as a homeschool youth mentor and the President of a non-profit organization which sponsors a local homeschool community. Avalie and her husband Trent have six exceptional children ages 11-19, some with adaptive and mental health needs, and they are passionate advocates that everyone can learn, grow and serve the Lord regardless of their challenges. The Muhlesteins reside on a homestead in the US Mountain West high desert with chickens, ducks, dogs, cats and dairy cows named Dolly and Bubbles.
